Have you been making mental notes about what she likes while you had the chance to go shopping with her? Don’t act like the typical guy who put on a shit-face when shopping with a girl, or ogling around. This is your chance to find out what she likes. When looking at jewelry, pay attention to the style and material. When looking at clothes and shoes, remember her size and the color she picked. You need to understand style. Is the pair of shoes round-headed or pointed? How high are the heels? What’s the material, suede or leather…etc?

The more you care, the more you will understand her habits and preferences. Your life will be easier when it comes to buying gifts for her. You could watch what she likes while shopping together, then secretly buy it for her. It will surely give her a nice surprise.

日后就变得对她更了解. 送礼物的时候就更容易把握. 其实最能逗她开心的就是你把她想买了很久的东西. 那是怎么办到的? 当然是平常和她逛街时打听到的, 你可以劝她先不要买下来, 然后你改天去那家店帮她买了, 等到重要的日子送给她.

OK, here’s it. The holiday season is coming, Christmas, Valentine’s, or it’s the birthday of the girl you’re after. What should you buy for her? You are scratching your head. Why so? It’s because you didn’t do your homework, your research. Listen, here’s how to tackle this problem. I’ll tell you what to buy and what not to buy. I’ll start with the “Don’t’s”.

1. Perfume/fragrance – Unless you know her very well, or you already know what brand/line she likes, otherwise forget it. The sense of smell is very personal. It’s almost impossible to tell whether she will like/dislike any particular fragrance. The chances of getting it wrong are way greater than getting it right. What’s worse? Picture this, you geniuses; she’s allergic to the perfume you bought her and there’re rashes on her skin. She’ll hate you for this. You might as well say your bye-byes.

2. Lingerie – Wait wait wait. You’re not her boyfriend yet, alright? It’s simply inappropriate. Trust me, you ain’t no Brad Pitt. And giving lingerie won’t get you laid. She’ll think you’re a pervert. And worse, girls talk; she’ll tell her shopping buddies, yoga girlfriends and gym rats…etc. By the next day, you’ll stink. And you won’t have any luck with her and anyone in that circle of friends. Words spread fast, man!

3. Clothes/shoes – Again, don’t do it unless you know her very well. Do you know her size? Do you know her favorite color? Girls buy clothes that match with her blouses, her shoes and her accessories. They do it mentally while shopping. So, you’ll probably get it wrong again.

1. 香水 – 除非你跟她很熟, 或者已经知道她喜欢哪种香水, 否则别买香水. 因为臭觉是非常personal. 你也不是专家, 就算专家也未必知道她喜欢什么味的香水, 所以你买错的机会比买对的机会大. 最麻烦就是原来她对你买的香水有过敏反应, 打喷啼, 或者皮肤长出豆豆, 她对你印象不只大大扣分, 有可能以后不想见到你.

2. 内衣 – 你跟人家好熟吗? 还未追到手, 就那么快送内衣, 你神经病呀? 还是以为自己是情聖? 这么快送内衣她会以为你是色狼. 还有, 她肯定会把事情告诉她的女性好友, 一传十, 十传百(女人八挂天性), 到时候你怎么都说不清, 以后都不用跟她见面.

3. 衣服, 鞋 – 还是别买这些啦. 你又不知道人家的size, 又不知道人家喜欢啥颜色. 衣服和鞋这些东西的喜爱比较主观. 买错的机会比买对的机会大. 所以最好是平常先research好才买. 如果你和她逛街的时候已经知道她喜欢的衣服/鞋, 把握就大一点.
